Who We are ?
Introduction:
Pardarshi Samaj (Transparent Society) is a non-profit, service-oriented organization established in Nepal in 2026. It works at the citizen level to reduce the irregularities, corruption, and abuse of office that permeate society, government, and institutions, with the broader aim of building a more honest public life. Its purpose is to help hold each of these actors accountable to the responsibilities they have assumed.
To safeguard citizens’ basic rights, Pardarshi Samaj places particular emphasis on access to information and the right to know. It will convene debates, discussions, and public dialogues to ensure meaningful citizen participation in the policy issues that affect their lives. The organization also sees itself as a bridge, working to strengthen mutual trust and cooperation among government, institutions, and citizens; and it will design programs in collaboration with the public, private, and non-governmental sectors on the basis of shared understanding.
Objectives:
- To support and coordinate efforts to curb corruption, irregularities and abuse of authority across the country and to foster a culture of transparency, accountability and responsibility within both governmental and non-governmental bodies.
- To conduct research, analysis, and data collection on issues of corruption and good governance and to implement awareness, advocacy, and public communication programs that engage youth, students and ordinary citizens in the fight against corruption.
- To promote improved public service delivery by working alongside relevant stakeholders and offering thoughtful recommendations, suggestions, and expert input on reforming the laws, regulations, and policies that enable corruption.
- To produce and disseminate investigative reporting, research-based writing and other essential information related to anti-corruption efforts, using the organization’s own publications, website, YouTube channel and social media platforms to reach the public effectively.
- To build the internal systems needed to fully draw on the knowledge, experience, and practice of its members, and to amplify that work through social media and other digital platforms.
- To collaborate with like-minded national and international organizations, both governmental and non-governmental, in publishing studies, research, and reports that advance the organization’s mission.
- In line with its mission and in coordination with the Government of Nepal, to engage with national and international governmental, non-governmental, and donor organizations, exchanging expertise, financial support, and technical assistance wherever the work requires it.
